After the success of historical biopic “Heneral Luna” last year, a film about the life of Gregorio “Goyong” del Pilar is now a sure go.
Actor Paulo Avelino is set to play lead role, while Jerrold Tarog will direct the film. Avelino also starred as General Del Pilar in “Heneral Luna” in 2015.
Gregorio del Pilar, also known as Goyong, is one of the youngest generals in the Philippine revolutionary Forces. He died in the ‘Battle of Tirad Pass’ where he was fighting against “Texas Regiment” and Infantry Regiment. At 24 years old, Del Pilar was the youngest general to die during the wars.
