GMA Network is set to deliver a series of programs that will surely excite and fascinate the Kapuso viewers.
Produced by the GMA Drama Group, these shows are top-billed by the brightest and hottest actors in Philippine showbiz.
First on the list is the original prime time series Meant To Be. This romantic-comedy series is top-billed by Barbie, Ken Chan, Jak Roberto, Ivan Dorschner and Addy Raj. The series premiered last January 9 and becomes one of the most-watched programs in prime time based on the data provided by AGB Nielsen.
In addition, AlDub Nation will finally see the much-awaited soap Destined To Be Yours, starring Alden Richards and Maine Medoza. Expectation on the phenomenal love team is very high as it is their first soap opera together.
Another series that will dominate the rating games is the remake of the hit Koreanovela My Love From The Star. Ultimate Star Jennilyn Mercado reprises the renown prima donna Steffi. The series marks the debut of the newest Kapuso actor Gil Cuenca as he plays the character of the supersmart extra-terrestrial Matteo.
Also, Encantantadiks and fans of GMA’s telefantasias do not have to worry about rhe end of Encatadia; it will be followed by another action-fantasy series Mulawin vs. Ravena starring Dennis Trillo. The telefantasya is the biggest production of GMA this 2017 as it presents a unique prime time masterpiece. Making the series extra special is the Asia’s Songbird’s return to prime time. This would be Regine Velasquez’s first full-time project involving a fantasy series.
As for the network’s Afternoon Prime block, the remake of Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa is set to premiere on January 30. The series is headlined by Julie Anne San Jose, Benjamin Alves, Martin del Rosario and LJ Reyes.
Coming to Afternoon Prime is the romantic drama series Legally Blind. Viewers will surely leave in awe as the Kapuso actress Janine Gutierrez plays the role of a rape victim who gets blind and who will become a lawyer to seek justice from her perpetrator. Mikael Daez and Rodjun Cruz will be playing as his leading men in the soap opera.
Another remade soap for the network’s afternoon block is a successful classic series Impostora. This highly controversial drama is top billed by Kapuso actress Kris Bernal with Rafael Rosell and Ryan Eigenmann.
GMA Drama spawns another show using the element of interview, dramatization, actual videos and photos with docu-drama Case Closed, hosted by Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes.
Beginning January 15, a super fun and exciting game show People vs. The Stars will surely change the afternoon vibe of the Kapuso viewers. The game show will be hosted by the power couple Drew Arellano and Iya Villania.
Celebrity Bluff will also return on its fun new season. Comedienne Eugene Domingo will host the game show. To make the show more exciting, Edu Manzano joins Domingo as he will be the show’s Master Bluffer.
Another comedy-musical show, Full House Tonight will star the Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez. The sidesplitting program is set to give Saturday nights a whole new experience beginning February 18.
Starting January 23, the Heart of Asia will bring one of the best Korean drama, The Big One. The drama is about the story of two doctors as they try to save Seoul from a natural disaster. To counterbalance the Korean drama, GMA will also premiere Pretty Woman. It is a love story that stars Hwang Jung-eum, Park Seo-joon, Go Joon-hee, and Choi Siwon.
Meanwhile, extra-terrestrial and supernatural teenagers will also welcome Kapuso fans’ morning block, with adventure series Lightning Point and Wolfblood.
For movie lovers, the Kapuso network brings the blockbuster films to be aired on free TV. Kapuso fans can expect Jurassic World, Furious 7, American Sniper, Mad Max: Fury Road, San Andreas, Minions, Imagine You & Me, and Enteng Kabisote and the Abangers on their TV screens soon.
Furthermore, viewers can only expect better and more innovative programs from GMA Network. The network hopes for another fruitful as it unveils other exciting shows like I Heart Davao, D’Originals, Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko, Project Achieved, Lip Sync Battle Philippines Season 3 and Text Serye.
