Is Liza Soberano really the next Darna?
Recently, a Philippine Star article, written by columnist Ricky Lo, has revealed that Kapamilya actress is indeed the one who will swallow that legendary white stone.
However, her manager Ogie Diaz seemed like he doesn’t want to interfere with Star Cinema’s decision to release its official announcement.
During his DZMM show, “Sakto”, on May 26, Ogie appealed to the Kapamilya fans to wait for the Star Cinema’s official announcement.
“Sa totoo lang, isa lang ang sinasabi ko, hintayin nating mag-announce ang Star Cinema, ayaw ko pong umepal. Ayaw ko sa akin manggaling kung ano ang desisyon nila, kung si Liza ba o ibang aktres ang gaganap na Darna,” he said.

The “Home Sweetie Home” star added that Liza would love to portray the iconic Pinay superhero. “Oo, gustong-gusto ni Liza maging Darna. Totoo ‘yan, totoo ‘yan. Siyempre sino ba naman ang ayaw maging Darna?” he admitted.
He then quipped, “Kahit nga Captain Barbell siguro mae-excite si Liza.”
The search for the next “Darna” has been the talk of the town since the news of Angel Locsin’s withdrawal from the much-awaited film broke out.
But now that the choices are being trimmed down to only few actresses, Liza’s chance to become the first modern “Darna” could lead into fruition.
