- The post was also made hours after Senator Risa Hontiveros called the secretary “King of Fake News” for his fake evidence towards the opposition.
- Also, according to Ogie, the secretary should be ashamed to President Duterte.
Senator Risa Hontiveros recently called Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II as the “King of Fake News” and decried the latter’s supposed attempt to link opposition lawmakers to the Marawi Clash that has been happening in Mindanao.
This was happened after the Justice Secretary told the journalists that Senators Bam Aquino and Antonio Trillanes IV met with Moro leaders in Marawi City on May 2 apparently to plot against the government.
The “King of Fake News” even showed a photo of Senator Aquino and Senator Trillanes which he claimed that the two were meeting with some Muslim leaders on May 2. However, it later turned out that the photo was taken in Iloilo City about two years ago.
The bigoted secretary then claimed that he was misquoted by the media. He did not even apologize to Senator Aquino and Senator Trillanes. Several lawmakers are now pushing for a congressional hearing to compel the secretary to explain why he falsely implicated some members of the political opposition in the Marawi Clash.
Ogie Diaz airs his side
On a Facebook post, talent manager Ogie Diaz aired his opinion about the issue. According to him, the justice secretary needs to undergo psychiatric evaluation as he cannot accept his mistakes despite being ‘cornered.’
He wrote: “Ilang beses nang pumapalpak si Aguirre. Secretary of Justice pa naman.
“Nakorner na, nagdedenay pa. Haaay… dapat dito kay Secretary, sumailalim sa psychiatric evaluation kung fit pa siya maging justice secretary.”
The radio commentator also added that the dogmatic secretary should be ashamed to President Rodrigo Duterte.
He emphasized, “Nakakahiya naman sa Pangulo. Lagi na lang kayong pinoprotektahan kahit siya na ang nasisisi ng ibang tao kumbakit nagluluklok ng maling tao.
“Mahiya naman kayo kay Pangulong Duterte. Hanggang kelan niya kayo ipagtatanggol?”
The takip-tenga incident
It could also be recalled that during the hearing for impeachment of former Chief Justice Renato Corona, the late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago lambasted Aguirre for his team’s shallow evidence towards the former.
The private prosecutor that time was caught covering his ears while the late senator was speaking. Senator Miriam then called Aguirre’s attention and invited the man to stand on the podium in front of her.
Aguirre then admitted that he intentionally covered his ears because he felt that the late senator disrespected his team.
During her interview with GMA News, Senator Miriam believed that the Justice Secretary has indeed a psychological problem.
She claimed, “Nasaktan talaga ako sa ginawa niya dahil hindi gawain yan ng regular na abogado. Mayroon siguro siyang deperensya. Talagang sinadya ko ‘yun sabi niya, so he admitted the guilt.
“Ginagatungan pa niya ako na magalit na magalit, kaya may deperensya talaga yung taong yun. Hindi mo dapat ginagawa ‘yun.”
Meanwhile, while talking to the press, Senator Miriam stated, “I think he has just a mental disorder because a lawyer will never, never aggravate a judge.”
