  • Derek Ramsay denies rumor that he is transferring to another TV station.
  • He says there’s no serious offer at this time. He also feels it would be very disrespectful to entertain other offers since he is still in contract with TV5.
  • Derek says he is happy that he is no longer banned with ABS-CBN. He was able to guest on some of ABS-CBN shows like “Gandang Gabi Vice” and “Tonight with Boy Abunda.”

There was a time when Derek Ramsay had a tiff with his former home studio, ABS-CBN whoch imposed a ‘ban’ against Derek, prohibiting him to promote his films. Even if the movie was with Kapamilya actors.

In 2012, Derek transferred to TV5 despite reports that there are talks the Kapamilya network planned to renew his contract.

Derek said, everything is water under the bridge now. The Kapamilya network has lifted the ban and Derek has been seen guesting is some ABS-CBN shows.

“Nag-movie na kami [“Ex with Benefits”] with Coleen Garcia [for Star Cinema, ABS-CBN’s movie production]. I also have a project with Bea Alonzo na naka-line-up. I also did a TV guesting for Vice Ganda’s “Gandang Gabi Vice” and Boy Abunda’s show,” beams Derek in an interview

Derek also clarified that he did not receive any offer from other networks. “Wala pa. You know, there’s hearsay, pero nothing serious. I think it would be very disrespectful for me to entertain other offers since I am still in contract with them [TV5],” says Derek.in an interview with Pep.ph.

His contract with TV5 will expire on April 2018. So he was asked if there will be a possibility for him to return to the Kapamilya network?

“Again, I cannot  say yet because it is too early For now, TV 5 is my priority. Lahat ng mga projects na binigay nila sa akin is because they know I would be interested to do it. I also decline pag hindi ako interested sa project, pag’ gusto ko tinatanggap ko. I was never forced to do a project in TV 5,” said Derek.

Derek said that a lot of things can happen from now until April of 2018. Right now, he said that transferring to another network is not part of his priority and prefers to talk about it come January of 2018.

Being with TV5 for six years now, Derek said he had no regrets. He enjoys working with the Kapatid network despite comments that his popularity waned since he left ABS-CBN.

Derek is proud to say that he was able to keep his name afloat with product endorsements, sports activities and his movies. He is also happy that TV 5 appreciated all his efforts.

“I’m probably the most loyal guy you would meet. When I play for our country, mabalian man ako, mamatay man ako, lahat ibibigay ko. It is the same thing with my network. I’m being paid, I should do my part,” says Derek.

The actor is excited for his new projects with TV 5 with one show that will tackle the lives of young athletes. Being an athlete himself, he said he can relate well to it.
