- Cinemalaya 2017’s awards night took place last Sunday, August 13, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP)
- “Respeto” took home 7 awards, including Best Feature Film and Netpac Jury Prize.
The much-anticipated, annual independent film festival, Cinemalaya, wrapped up their 2017 competition yesterday. With the awards night as a culminating event held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).
Director Treb Monteras II’s “Respeto” took home most of the awards including the Netpac Jury Prize and the Best Feature Film. “Respeto,” stars today’s most popular Filipino rappers Abra and Loonie.
The ‘Best Actor’ award went to Noel Comia Jr for the movie “Kiko Boksingero,” while Angeli Bayani was hailed the “Best Actress” for her very believable portrayal of an OFW in Zig Dulay’s “Bagahe.”
