Vice Ganda continues to show unwavering commitment to promoting her Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025 entry ‘Call Me Mother’, even as the festival season nears its conclusion.
The Unkabogable Superstar has remained active with mall tours, cinema visits, and social media promotions, underscoring her strong belief in the film and her support for the local movie industry.

Despite an already successful run, Vice has not slowed down. On January 4, she personally visited SM Sucat, later tweeting, “O diba hanggang ngayon naglalako pa din ako! Lolzzz!” When praised by fans for her tireless efforts, Vice responded candidly, “Para sa gipit na kumpanya at gipit na industriya na pareho kong mahal.” She also invited fans to join her for a screening at Fisher Mall, further emphasizing her hands-on approach to promotion.
‘Call Me Mother’ has emerged as one of the biggest successes of MMFF 2025. The film reportedly earned close to ₱300 million in box-office gross in under two weeks, topped the festival’s box-office rankings, and won multiple awards, including Best Actor for Vice Ganda. The achievement marks a milestone in Vice’s film career, as it represents her first project to receive both strong critical acclaim and massive commercial success.

In interviews, Vice admitted she has been overwhelmed by the positive reviews, noting that she approached the role by simply trusting the direction of filmmaker Jun Lana rather than focusing on critics’ expectations. She has since been reposting reviews on social media, expressing pride in being recognized for a more nuanced and emotionally driven performance beyond comedy.
The success of ‘Call Me Mother’ has also reignited discussions about a future collaboration between Vice and director Jun Lana, following their previous MMFF project ‘And the Breadwinner Is….’ Vice confirmed she is open to working with Lana again, crediting him for revitalizing her film career and helping her navigate the pressure of expectations.

Vice also shared how deeply the project affected her on a personal level, recounting emotional exchanges with her on-screen son, Lucas Andalio, after the film’s run. She described their bond as something she intends to keep beyond the movie, highlighting how the experience left a lasting impact on her.
As MMFF 2025 draws to a close, Vice Ganda’s dedication to ‘Call Me Mother’ stands out—not just as a box-office powerhouse, but as a testament to her loyalty to Philippine cinema. Many fans and industry observers have praised her work ethic, expressing hope that other stars will follow her example in actively supporting their films and the local film industry.
