  • “Miss Q and A” follows a string of out-of-the-box pageant formats such as “I am Pogay” and “That’s My Tomboy” made popular by “It’s Showtime.”
  • Relive some of the Miss Q and A candidates’ answers that definitely made a mark on noontime.

“It’s Showtime” had noontime viewing ‘shookt’ once again when it launched “Miss Q and A,” the segment where aspiring beauty queens make meme-worthy antics and give sensible and relevant answers to outrageous questions.

“Miss Q and A” follows a string of out-of-the-box pageant formats such as “I am Pogay” and “That’s My Tomboy” made popular by “It’s Showtime,” which celebrated its eighth anniversary  last month.

Along with their on-point gowns and sass, the candidates’ confidence and ability to voice out their thoughts in just 30 seconds have mesmerized viewers and netizens alike, earning millions of views online.

They may not pass as the next Anne Curtis or Liza Soberano, but the segment’s top candidates showcased wit that made them queens in their own right. Get to know them more here:

  1. Juliana Parizcova Segovia (grand finalist)

“Miss Q and A’s” first hall of famer, Juliana may not look like a stunner at first, but each one of her answers left viewers blown away. Her funny remarks and undeniable wit definitely helped her earn ten crowns and win the hearts of the madlang people.

Q: Ano ang pipiliin mo, to be kind or to be right

A: I believe ladies and gentlemen mas pipiliin ko po ang to be kind. ‘Pag naging mabuti kang tao, lahat magiging right. And I… thank you!

  1. Matrica Mae Matmat Centino (grand finalist)

Another “Miss Q and A” hall of famer, Matmat impressed viewers with her vast vocabulary and animated theatrics that added flavor to her already meaty answers. Her conviction also made the audience listen to her.

Q: Ano ang pipiliin mo, maging maagap o maging masipag?

A: I believe, natural maging masipag. It is imperative. When we say imperative, it is necessary for you to work hard. And I… thank you!

  1. Jeraldine Brittany Hawthorne (semi-finalist)

You may mistake Jeraldine for a radio jock because of her soothing speaking voice. Her active participation in broadcast classes helped her boost her confidence and the ability to speak her mind well.

Bakit po madlang people? And I… thank you!

  1. Maria Katrina Lopez (semi-finalist)

This Tintin Bersola-lookalike stunned viewers with her grace and beauty. She may be soft-spoken and regal, but she would unleash her grit and determination to win once she got on the stage.

Palagi po nating isasaisip at isasapuso, kung mahal mo ang isang tao, you’ll set that person free to love the person he would like to love. And I… thank you!

  1. Ivy Aguas Avilla (semi-finalist)

Just like Maja Salvador’s character in the hit Kapamilya series “Wildflower,” “Miss Q and A’s” very own Ivy Aguas is not easily toppled down. A political science graduate, Ivy is well acquainted with social issues that are relevant to every Filipino.

A: “I believe, madlang people, dapat ilaan ang pinakamalaking budget ng pamahalaan sa health care. If we’re going to focus on that aspect, I believe we’re going to have a better future. And I… thank you!”

  1. Pau Bermudez (semi-finalist)

With a gorgeous face and a slender body, Pau is the definition of beauty and brains. She is also a veteran “kontesera” who started joining beauty pageants when she was 15. Don’t be fooled by her dainty looks because she can go hard when it comes to answering tough questions.

Q: Sa iyong palagay, kailan nagiging tama ang mali?

A: I believe, madlang people, nagiging tama ang mali kapag ito ay naitutuwid mo. And I… thank you!

  1. Bryce Montilla (semi-finalist)

Hailing from Cavite, Bryce proved that she is not just a pretty face but also a woman of depth and reason. She did not just win the hearts of the madlang people but also Vice Ganda’s, as the host consistently called her his daughter and even named her Bryce Ganda.

And I… thank you!

  1. Marigona Dona Dragusha (semi-finalist)

Marigona was sick during her eight-day reign but that did not stop her from bringing her A-game in the competition. She was remarkably articulate, exuded confidence, and a crowd favorite who received loud cheers and screams every time she stepped on stage.

A:  I believe, ang isang mahalagang katangian ng isang lider ay ‘yung may command or power to speak. Why? Because whatever you speak or whatever you say in front of the public is something people around should always follow. Napakaimportante natin bilang isang speaker to deliver what we have, because a real leader is a speaker himself. Kapag nade-deliver mo nang maayos ang mga tao, may kapangyarihan ka, nakikinig ang lahat, because people get to understand that what you’re doing is let them understand na ginagawa mo yu’n for their own worth. And I… thank you!

  1. Maria Cassandra Lopez (semi-finalist)

Maria Cassandra made a mark on the competition with her Thai greetings such as “Sawadika” (hello) and “Kapunka” (thank you) that the madlang people and even the hosts enjoyed. Her beauty is also backed up by wit and intelligence, as well as boldness to take on sensitive issues such as equality.

A: I believe, hindi pantay-pantay ang tao sa mundo kasi ginawa tayo ng Diyos to have differences but it’s up to you kung anong karanasan ang mapupulot mo mula sa ibang tao. Life gives us two experiences: the good side give us happiness and the bad side gives us lessons, so both sides are essential. It’s up to you how are you going to be receptive sa mga personalidad ng mga tao kasi may matututunan ka at mapupulot ka sa mga tao na magagamit mo sa sarili mo. And I… thank you!

  1. Gianna Castiliogne Francisco (semi-finalist)

Gianna could easily melt your heart with her sweet voice and mesmerizing smile that lightens up the room. She also let her heart out every time she held the mic and made sure she gave a winning answer to defend her crown.

And I… thank you!

Don’t miss the gorgeous and witty candidates of “Miss Q and A” on “It’s Showtime,” weekdays and Saturdays on ABS-CBN.
