On 39th birthday celebration of Senator Manny Pacquiao in General Santos City, President Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte announced that he will support the boxer-turned-politician when he decided to run for the presidency on 2022 election.
On Duterte’s speech during the event, he acknowledged Manny as the future leader of the country.
“I am dedicating this message to Manny. You know why? Sabi ko sa kanya at one time, kami lang dalawa nag-uusap ‘Yung style mo na ‘yan gusto kita gawaing presidente. Alam mo kaya mo’,” Duterte said.
According to Duterte, as Senator, Manny has the qualities of a leader our country needs nowadays.
“As a senator, you have demonstrated the qualities of a true leader — someone who believes that in order to make the Philippines a better country, we have to keep our people on top of our priorities. I am glad that you are with me on this mission,” Duterte continued.
“I pray for your good health and also for your family so that you will be able to serve the Filipinos. Continue to inspire and uplift others as we lead them towards a more prosperous and comfortable life,” Duterte added.
Meanwhile, PacMom Dionisia Pacquiao said that she will also support her son on whatever political plans in the future.
“Susuportahan ko siya, bahala na ang Diyos kung saan siya dadalhin sa mundo ng politika,” she said.
