- GMA Saksi anchor, Arnold Clavio, called out ABS-CBN TV Patrol and Bandila anchor, Karen Davila, on speaking out wrongly on an issue.
- Gideon Lasco wrote a piece about Rappler’s shutdown which Karen shared on her Twitter account.
- Arnold posted his opinion on Instagram while calling out Karen.
Arnold Clavio chides Karen Davila on being sakay sa issue. The issue, being the shutdown of local online news and entertainment website, Rappler. Karen quote tweeted a post from writer, Gideon Lasco, which Arnold captured a screenshot then posted it on Instagram.
Arnold also pointed out that she should have listened and got their side first rather than posting it immediately
Gideon posted a photo of his own write-up on Twitter. The caption read: “What’s happening to @rapplerdotcom is part of a broader attack against our democratic institutions, including the Constitution itself. Now is the time for solidarity – and courage.”
He further wrote that Rappler faces a shutdown for violating the Constitution on alleged “foreign ownership.” He then continued writing his observations:
“While Rappler faces a shutdown because of alleged “foreign ownership,” the administration actually wants foreign companies to enter the Philippine market. In fact, some of the proposed amendments to the Constitution would lift restrictions to foreign ownership.”
Karen quote tweeted it and wrote: “YES! Keywords – solidarity & courage. It saddens me to hear some colleagues making jokes on air on Rappler being shut down or which one’s next. @gideonlasco”
Arnold Clavio took it to Instagram and called out Karen on riding the said issue. He wrote on the caption:
“Is this your post @iamkarendavila ? Can’t believe you didn’t even get our side… Halatang hindi mo kasi napanood o napakinggan eh at naki-tsismis ka lang. ‘Solidarity and courage’ ba kamo? Yun nga ang mensahe ng Balitawit ko. “
Then, he clarified his statement more and explained further.

We stand by you in the fight for press freedom. Di na tayo papayag na kitlin muli ang kalayaan sa pamamahayag. Mag ingat po tayong lahat.””
However, Arnold ended it, expressing his gratitude to people who understood.
