As expected, Maine Mendoza has returned to ‘Eat Bulaga’ on New Year’s Day, January 1 episode for 2018.
Maine tweeted, “Ang swerte ko lang na nakakasama ko sila araw-araw. Hay, mga mahal kong kuya! Namiss ko kayo sobra sobra!”
The hashtag ‘ALDUB2018’ and ‘Maine’ immediately became a trending topic on Twitter as Netizens welcome Maine’s return after one-month of hibernation on the said longest-running noontime show. Fans are hoping for the possibility of a reunion with her other half, Alden Richards on the show.

In a report published on Pilipino Star Ngayon (PSN) on December 19, confirmed what Maine’s manager Rams David have said that Mendoza will be back on the show’s first episode of the year.
Rams told Salve Asis, “Definitely she’ll be back. Alam naman nating she’s having a good time sa States with her family. Doon sila magki-Christmas.”
He also added that Maine got burnout so she asked for a break.
“Sobrang napagod sa rami ng trabaho. Saka remember, hindi naman siya showbiz, di ba? So, two years na mahigit na para siyang a fish out of the water. Bigla nating itinulak sa jungle! Dalawang taon niyang hinarap ang lahat ng challenges, ups-and-downs. Lahat.”
Maine rose to fame after posting Dubsmash videos that went viral on Facebook. She was then tapped by TAPE Inc. to become a talent in the ‘Kalyeserye’ portion of ‘Eat Bulaga’ as Yaya Dub, and became part of the superstar love team ‘AlDub’ with actor Alden Richards.
Her very first teleserye with Alden on GMA Network’s Telebabad Block aired for one season from February to May last year.
While Maine is with JoWaPao namely Paolo Ballesteros, Wally Bayola and Jose Manalo with the chosen baranggay for the ‘Juan for All: All for Juan’, her other-half, Alden was assigned inside the studio.
