Former beauty queens Maggie Wilson and Bea Rose Santiago recently called Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray’s fans nasty and rude. This incident happened after said fans called out Maggie and Bea on body shaming Catriona after winning the Best Swimsuit during the Binibining Pilipinas Grand Coronation on March 18, Sunday.
Maggie used to be Bb. Pilipinas – World in 2007 while Bea won as Bb. Pilipinas – International in 2013. Bea was crowned as Miss International the same year.
Maggie and Bea remained active in social media as ABS-CBN airs and telecasts the said beauty pageant. The issue started when both Maggie and Bea expressed their negative reaction to Catriona winning the special award, Best Swimsuit.
A fan collected screenshots of Maggie and Bea’s posts. In a Facebook post, Maggie wrote:
“Huh, best in swimsuit? Paano? I mean, pretty face but definitely not the best body out there.”
Bea also took to her Facebook to write:
“Napa nganga tawa kami ni Maggie Wilson-Consunji”
The former Miss International wrote that the Best Swimsuit special award shouldn’t be based on the face of the candidate.

Catriona’s fans and other netizens alike didn’t approve of Maggie and Bea’s body-shaming comments on the Miss Universe Philippines candidate. Maggie and Bea received negative and harsh comments on their social media accounts. Some netizens also personally attacked the former beauty queens.

Another netizen also noted what Bea wrote on Facebook remains a mockery.
“Hindi naman opinion ang pagsabi nya ng “napa-nganga TAWA kami ni Maggie Wilson”. Mockery or body-shaming yun. Pinagtawanan nila si Catriona!”
Other netizens, shook their heads on the two former beauty queens.
“Tsk tsk shame on these ladies.”
A netizen hoped that Maggie and Bea didn’t actually say those things.

In an Instagram Story, Maggie spoke up about what her insight on the matter. Maggie pointed out that these fans may have forgotten how she liked Catriona as a representative for Miss Universe. She further added that these fans ignored and neglected her statement. She sustained Catriona may not like what her rude fans have been saying.
“Getting so much hate for a comment I made about catriona gray.
I didn’t agree with her being awarded best in swimsuit. I stand by that. I also do think she’s beautiful and deserves her miss universe Philippine’s win for overall performance. Did you forget that I also wrote that. Or did you choose to ignore and neglect to read, screen cap and share that part just so you have a “reason” to hate.
Why don’t you ask her what she thinks?
I’m sure she won’t condone how nasty you’re all being.

In another Instagram Story, Maggie attached a screenshot of the rude comments on her social media post.
“You can hate me if you like, but how dare you go after my family!
These are your fans @catriona_gray”
An Instagram user, @riccimaymay, wrote on one of Maggie’s posts:
“@wilsonmaggie bitch be thankful you married a sugar daddy! The fuck do you mean! Your mama looks like a monkey!”
The same Instagram user wrote:
“CLAPPER IT IS! GET OUT OF THIS COUNTRY AND GO TO INDONESIA @wilsonmaggie WE DONT NEED YOU HERE! GO WITH YOUR SUGAR DADDY!”
Bea replied to comments on her Instagram posts. In a comment, she replied to a user that she knows Catriona remains one of the best candidates for Miss Universe.
“ano nga ang mali lol show me?! Never compared girls instead I showed appreciation. @catriona_gray was me beat imean sino bang pang U? Tapos hanash agad? Gawagawa kayo stories without checking it theres something wrong. If i wanna say something I can say her name.”
Bea responded that Catriona needs to know her fans are rude to people who just gave an opinion.
