  • ToFarm Festival 2018 gives recognition to late director Maryo J. delos Reyes.
  • The annual festival will select the seven official entries on April 20.

During the press launch of ToFarm Film Festival 2018, late director Maryo J. delos Reyes was recognized for his contributions for the said festival. Dra. Mila O. How, the festival’s brainchild, said in her speech that there will be a Maryo J. delos Reyes Special Award.

“We were deeply saddened with the demise of Direk Maryo J.delos Reyes, our first TFF director. He gave so much of himself for TFF. When he suddenly left us, we found ourselves at a crossroad. Should we go on with the project or not?” Dr. How said.

The award-winning director was the Festival director before he died last January 27, 2018.

Meanwhile, Dr. How also announced that Bibeth Orteza is the newest festival director while filmmakers Joey Romero and Laurice Guillen are the festival advisers.

With a theme “A Tribute to Life: Parating Na,” the 3rd ToFarm Film Festival will select its seven official movie entries. They encouraged everyone to pass their screenplays on or before April 20.

Aside from its full-length category, this year’s festival will have its short-film competition for young filmmakers.
