Coco Martin and Vice Ganda will compete against each other in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival 2018. Coco’s entry, Popoy En Jack: The Puliscredibles, also features Vic Sotto in the lead role.
Meanwhile, Vice’s entry, Fantastica: The Princesses, the Prince and the Perya, stars Maymay Entrata, Loisa Andalio and Maris Racal.
When asked about competing with Vice, Coco wished people would stop putting up ‘issue’ between them via their respective films that will battle in the said annual Christmas season film fest, “I wish people would stop pitting us against each other. There’s no rivalry.”
Coco also explained that Vice knew how much he had wanted to work with Vic.
“I’m excited because we will be working on my concept. We’re working together on how to make the action scenes more explosive and the comedy, more relatable to the audience.”
In the past year, Metro Manila Film Festival 2017 also had entries from Coco and Vice. Coco’s entry was Ang Panday, that had Mariel de Leon as his leading lady. Vice’s entry, Gandarrapido: The Revengers Squad, combined forces with Daniel Padilla and Pia Wurtzbach.
It can be remembered that during the MMFF 2017 parade, Coco jumped to Gandarrapido‘s float and hugged Vice.
