It must have been one embarrassing episode of Eat Bulaga’s Juan for All, All for Juan segment.
On its July 26, 2018, episode, the hosts in the studio picked a winner via draw who happened to be watching Eat Bulaga’s rival show that very moment.
When Juan for All, All for Juan segment hosts Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros and Maine Mendoza barged into the house of Nanay Herminia, the day’s Sugod Bahay winner, they had no idea at all that she was watching It’s Showtime.
Jose said in a jest, “‘Nay, pakilipat po muna ‘yung TV n’yo. Ibang channel ang pinapanood n’yo.”
He said further, “Mamaya na tayo pumasok, baka makita sa camera.”
When they were finally interviewing the elderly lady, Jose asked her if she ever watches Eat Bulaga to which Nanay Herminia only let out a laugh.
Without missing a beat, Jose asked jokingly, “Puwede ba tayong bumunot ng bago?”.
As it turned out, Nanay Herminia, 71, did not own the house. She was there as caregiver to a sick old person as well. Her whole family is in Tabaco, Albay.
Jose quipped when he asked Nanay Herminia to greet her husband and children in Bicol, “Sigurado ba kayo, tayo ang pinapanood nu’n?” The elderly caregiver would later disclose that GMA’s signal in Bicol is weak.
Due to failing eyesight, Nanay Herminia had a hard time identifying the Eat Bulaga. Vic added more to the confusion when he identified Pia Guanio as Vice Ganda and Luanne Dy as Anne Curtis to Nanay Herminia. Vice and Anne are, of course, hosts of the rival noontime show.
