Enrique Gil as “Captain Barbell”? ABS-CBN is said to be eyeing him to play a superhero role of his own

• Enrique Gil has made it public that he is no longer part of the Darna movie.

• Rumors suggest that Enrique might be playing Captain Barbell in the future.

While Liza Soberano is busy being Darna, her onscreen partner Enrique Gil might just have his own superhero project. ABS-CBN hasn’t revealed if it will be a movie or a series.

Enrique was initially part of the Darna reboot but was pulled out because the network said they have other plans for the actor.

Instead of Liza Soberano having a leading man in her upcoming movie, he will be joined by a child “Ding” who is the character portrayed in Darna’s signature line: “Ding! Ang Bato!”

Enrique said that LizQuen will still continue to appear together on other projects. Meanwhile, there are speculations that one of Enrique’s upcoming projects is Captain Barbell.

If indeed true, then LizQuen is no longer just a romantic couple, but a superhero couple as well.
