Mocha Uson announced her resignation from the Presidential Communications Operations Office Assistant Secretary position during the Senate hearing on the 2019 PCOO Budget.
Mocha said that her resignation is a form of a self-sacrifice so that the intended budget for PCOO will be released.
She also claimed that some government oppositions that hold an office in the current administration are against her presence in PCOO, and will not release or will attempt to reduce the 2019 PCOO budget.
“Ako na po ang magsasakripisyo para maipasa na ang budget ng PCOO. Ako po ay nagdesisyon na mag-resign na po,” she said.
The news immediately resounded on the internet and among the netizens who reacted is celebrity comedienne Ethel Booba.
Even though her tweet isn’t directly addressed to Mocha Uson’s resignation, it is related to this trending topic.
Ethel Booba wrote, “‘Pag magre-resign kayo antayin nyo muna makuha ang 13th month pay. 3 to 6 months pa naman ang back pay. Charot.”
She also added, “Malapit na ang filing of candidacy kasi. Charot!”
Based on Booba’s tweets, it would seem that she’s alleging that Uson will file for candidacy in the 2019 Senatorial elections. Thus, giving up her seat in PCOO.
This allegation may have come from Mocha’s own words before leaving the Senate hearing. She said, “Dadalhin ko ang laban sa senado.”
