Fans started to ask Alden Richards what would be next after his Victor Magtanggol when it ended in November 2018. Although it has yet to be confirmed, Richards’ upcoming project would be another drama.

So… no Descendants of the Sun?
Even before Victor Magtanggol started to air, Richards was already rumored to portray the lead role of the Philippine remake of Koreanovela, Descendants of the Sun.
He was said to be paired up again with his AlDub partner, Maine Mendoza.
Since he would star in a drama series, Richards may not push through with the action series.
Alden and Maine go on their separate ways.
Although Richards and Mendoza don’t have a project together, they are closer than ever. He noted that they are more open to each other. He expressed his happiness and gratitude to their fans who continue to supporting them even if they are in different points of their careers.
“Mas close kami ngayon ni Maine at mas open to each other. Nakakatuwa ‘yung fans na rooting for us pa rin, showing their support regardless na magkaiba kami ng tinatahak na career as of the moment.”
Alden eyed for another Kapuso leading lady.
Aside from Mendoza, Richards wished to working with Heart Evangelista and shared his reasons why.
“I’d really like to be given the chance to work with Heart Evangelista. I find her a good actress and I’ve never worked with her before. I’d really like to experience working with her as my leading lady.”
