The executive director of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Arnell Ignacio, resigned from his position.
During his entertainment press conference on Wednesday, he said that his resignation was formally submitted.
“President (Rodrigo Duterte) understands this very, very well. Hindi ko naman na siya bibigyan ng sakit ng ulo at bigyan pa ng oras para sa akin, kasi itong transition na gagawin ko, I just followed the normal procedure, I submitted my resignation letter to my superior and in process na ngayon yung aking kapalit,” he explained.
As an actor, he is so excited to go back to this kind of environment and career.
“Nakalimutan ko, ang dami ko na palang hindi napagtuunan ng pansin. Ang paliwanag ko din naman sa aming superior, ‘Sana mabigyan din ako ng pagkakataon na magtrabaho at bumalik sa aking gawain sa showbiz dahil talaga naman napaghusayan ko na’ and I want to get a chance again to earn (from showbiz),” he said.
This resignation is the only way that can give him what he wants.

“Kasi ayaw kong guluhin ang gobyerno para sa problema kong ganun, and ito lang talaga ang tamang hakbang na gagawin ko, ready sila na tulungan ako sa lahat, pero sabi ko ‘nakakapag-trabaho pa naman ako’ ayaw ko nang tumangi sa showbiz,” he shared.
He also shared that he was invited many times to work in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano but because of having this position, he refused to do it.
“Ang dami ko nang pinagtatanggihan, ang Probinsyano tinangihan ko, biruin mo lahat ata ng artista gustong gusto maging kasama doon tapos ako tatanggihan ko dahil palipad-lipad ako noon,” he said.
Aside from being excited to go back to showbiz, this resignation also gave him time to fix things in his personal life.
“Ang sakit lang sa akin na wala ako sa pagka Dad ko, at natamaan na rin ang relationship ko with my family, with my daughter na sanay na sanay na nandiyan ako lagi. Ang laki na pala ng problema na nangyayari sa personal life ko. Nada-damage na pala, my financial balances medyo upset na, pati yung relasyon ko sa pamilya ko,” he ended.
