Francine Diaz, the young star of the afternoon hit series Kadenang Ginto, does not forget the times when Melai Cantiveros helped her out when they were about to be evicted.
In an episode of Magandang Buhay on July 3, Wednesday, Francine and Kyle Echarri were invited as guests for the show. Melai, the talkshow host, was shocked after Francine thanked her for preventing her and her family from being evicted from their rented house in the past.
“Totoo po ‘yon. Muntik na kaming mapalayas noon. Wala kaming kuryente noon. Nakaligpit na ‘yung gamit na, nasa box na, nakaayos na. Tapos hindi namin alam kung saan kami lilipat. Tapos pinakiusapan namin si Ate Melai kung puwedeng manghiram ng ganito-ganyan. Tapos sumagot pa siya and ‘yun nakabayad kami ng renta namin, sa kuryente. Kaya hindi po kami napalayas dahil kay Ate Melai,” Francine recalled.
“Thank you, Ate. I love you so much,” said Francine and then explained about her revelation, “Para malaman nila kung gaano ka kabait.”
Before this, Melai already related that she is a witness to the struggles faced by Francine’s family.
Francine and Melai worked together for the 2016 series We Will Survive.

“Kaya pag-ingatan mo itong blessing na ibinigay sa iyo na ito. Kayo ni Kyle,” Melai said pertaining to Francine and Kyle’s famous series Kadenang Ginto.
Along with Francine and Kyle, Dimples Romana, Beauty Gonzalez, Andrea Brillantes and Seth Fedelin are also leading stars of the afternoon series.
Francine who first starred in her debut series Be My Lady as the young Pinang, is now gaining recognition for her portrayal of Cassandra “Cassie” Mondragon in Kadenang Ginto. Her confrontations with Andrea Brillantes’ role Margaret “Marga” Mondragon are always trending online.
Due to the show’s successive high ratings, Kadenang Ginto was granted with an extension until 2020 and is all set to make an explosion for Season 3.
It has been almost a week since the teaser for the much-awaited Season 3 of Kadenang Ginto was released both on television and online and its avid viewers are very eage rto find out the next developments of the top-rating afternoon series.
As seen in the teaser, Romina and Daniela are seemingly facing the consequences of the pact they made before Cassie’s critical operation – with the former going back to the simple life she used to have after bequeathing all their inheritances to Daniela in exchange of saving her daughter from death, while the latter having a tough job running their company that’s already at the brink of bankruptcy.
However, their worlds are about to change as Romina will apparently be able to rise from the ashes and go back in her lush life with the help of her newfound friend-slash-business partner Leon (Richard Yap). Her stepdaughter, on the other hand, will have the taste of bad karma and will be pushed to leave the affluent life she had.
This was depicted by showing Romina languidly sitting on a posh, upholstered couch and taking a bite of the golden apple handed to her by Leon, while Daniela walks down the street in her red dress with her one hand clutching a luxurious bag and the other one pulling a red suitcase.
