- Mikoy Morales is happy to be part of The Gift series

Kapuso artist Mikoy Morales is happy that he is part of GMA Network’s newest drama series The Gift. It was also his first time working with Alden Richards, the lead actor of the series. Mikoy plays the role of Victor “Bistek” in the series.
According to him, he felt that Alden seemed to be reticent towards him on the set of The Gift. But Mikoy then added that he still admired Alden for his achievements in the showbiz industry.
“Sa story, barkada kami nina Alden at Mikee (Quintos) sa Divisoria,” Mikoy said.
“Close kami pero sa first scene naming magkakasama, naramdaman kong may reluctance kay Alden. First time rin naman silang nagkasama ni Mikee. Pero si Alden matagal na akong humahanga sa kanya. Nasubaybayan ko ang career niya simula pa noon ‘di pa ako artista at hangang-hanga ako sa mga achievements niya. Tama lahat ang mga papuring tinatanggap niya.”
The actor speculated that Alden felt reluctant with him because he was a best friend of Juancho Trivino. Last year, Juancho made noise on social media after he was caught on video doing a “dirty finger” after Alden’s poster was shown.
“Siguro po, iyong best friends kami ni Juancho Trivino. Alam ko pong may hindi magandang incident sa kanila noon ni Juancho. Pero alam ko nagkausap na sila noon at wala nang issue sa kanila. Kaya po sinabi ko rin iyon kay Alden.”
Mikoy said that Alden just laughed off the issue when it was brought up to him,“Wala iyon, ikaw si Mikoy,” Alden said.
Mikoy also observed that Alden is a very sincere person despite the issues surrounding him. He is happy that he has bonding moments with Alden on the set.
“Kaya po ngayon, ang saya lagi namin sa set, at magkakasama rin kaming tatlo sa tent, kaya talagang may bonding kami. Kasama na rito iyong madalas mag-share ng food niya si Alden, hahaha!”
Currently, Mikoy is shooting more scenes with Alden and Mikee Quintos in the series as Alden’s character, Sep, has now lost his sight and is dependent on his friends.
“Mas marami pong magagandang eksenang mapapanood sa serye namin, dahil sa kabila ng pagiging bulag ni Sep, may nakikita siyang visions, nakikita niya ang ginawa ng isang tao, ang kanyang nakaraan at ang kanyang future,” Mikoy concluded.
The Gift is a Kapuso series that premiered on September 16, 2019 on the network’s Telebabad line up replacing Love You Two. It tells the story of Joseph/Sep who lives as a vendor with his adoptive family Strawberry and Char. He eventually loses his eyesight in a near-death accident and begins to see visions of the future and the past. Also starring in this series are Elizabeth Oropesa, Rochelle Pangilinan,Jean Garcia, Jo Berry, Martin del Rosario, and Rochelle Pangilinan. It is under the helm of LA Madridejos.
