October 18th, 2019 – Singapore – Intense, vulnerable and 100% authentic, LEW has his vocal and songwriting prowess on full display via his final single “In Time” off his latest EP ‘Red Flags’. The release of this track completes the EP which is out now.
The stirring track features the saccharine sweet voice of Marian Carmel, a Singapore-based singer-songwriter from the Philippines. “In Time” is about the understanding that as two people grow in a relationship, they may not grow together. The two earnestly croon about the journey of two long-distance lovers as they learn to be independent.
LEW’s latest EP ‘Red Flags’ focuses on the darker sides human relationships, and navigating abandonment, neglect, doubt and hope of love. Featuring a stellar team of singers, songwriters, and producers across North America and Southeast Asia, the EP is LEW’s most ambitious release to date. ’Red Flags’ follows his previously released full-length album and 2 EPs that each clocked over a million streams on Spotify and Apple Music.
Being an openly queer artist, LEW has always believed in normalising his identity, actively choosing never to change the pronouns in his songs, and speaks openly about his current and past partners while performing to live audiences. LEW says, “Being a queer artist is about my responsibility to the community. I was lucky and fortunate enough to have a strong support system, and so when I came out, I was met with support, love and understanding. I know that this is not the story for most in my community – and so I hope that by being an openly queer artist, I can at least make a lost and confused soul feel less alone.”
The 23-year-old Singaporean singer-songwriter spent most of his years in Hong Kong and is now based in Boston completing his studies at the renowned Berklee College of Music.
