The Executive Committee of Metro Manila Film Festival highly prohibits any of the participating movie producers and theater owners to release unofficial rankings, earnings, and box office gross to the public.
However, the alleged three-day box-office gross and rankings from December 25 to 27 were released.
During Christmas Day, Anne Curtis and Vice Ganda’s The Mall, The Merrier was the leading film entry in MMFF 2019 with estimated earnings of P3,157,342 while Aga Muhlach’s Miracle In Cell No. 7 was the second with P2,989,335.
Cinema insiders nationwide are now stating that Aga Muhlach’s film has already outranked Vice Ganda’s comedy.
If these statements are true, this would be the first time ever that a Vice Ganda movie to be in the second spot after seven years of being the top-grosser in Metro Manila Film Festival.
