Actor and singer Mark Bautista shared his experience meeting Sarah Geronimo-Guidicelli’s mother, Mommy Divine, who is currently getting a lot of negative publicity for being against her daughter’s marriage with Matteo Guidicelli.
Until now, many netizens including celebrities expressed their disappointment and question Mommy Divine’s parenting skills.
Mark and Sarah were both contestants of the reality singing competition, Star For A Night in 2002 with the latter winning the show. Both of them received great feedback from fans and became a well-known love team back then.
Working together for years, the ‘Pop Heartthrob’ became used to Mommy Divine’s discipline when it comes to Sarah.
“Si mommy naman kasi, sa tagal ko na siyang nakasama ay parang naintindihan ko na siya. Meron siya minsang pagkainosente, naive ba,” he stated on Wednesday, March 4, in an interview.
Despite the bad image that she has right now, the 36-year old actor pointed out that Divine is just very caring of daughter Sarah.
He shared, “Sobrang maalaga talaga siya kay Sarah. Like super maalaga to the point na talagang madapuan ng lamok bawal, madapuan ng langaw or something.
“Naaalala ko yung dati na parang kapag nakaligtaan niyang painumin ng vitamins si Sarah, ano pa to Sarah the Teen Princess pa. Midnight na, pinapainom nya ng vitamins,” he continued and added, “Iniingatan niya si Sarah. “
Meanwhile, Mark also shared that Mommy Divine doesn’t allow Sarah to leave her hotel room even when the latter is asked out by her friends.
When asked if Mommy Divine warned or stopped the singer-actor from courting her daughter, he said, “Hindi naman sya nagdirect na ‘o, wag mong pormahan’… pakita ka sa kanya ganyan. ‘Di ko alam kung may pakiramdam sya na ayaw niya o ano ba, baka magbibigay sya ng move na [i-discourage ka].”
Furthermore, Mark wishes that Mommy Divine finally opens up and express her side of the story for others to understand her.
“I’m just hoping na si mommy magsalita para marinig din yung side nya. Kawawa naman kasi parang lahat na lang negative sa kanya.”
Aside from Mommy Divine, Mark was also asked about Sarah’s father, Daddy Delfin whom he described as kind and quiet.
He said, “Mabait. Sya yung parang nasa side lang, tahimik lang. Lalo na yung nasa abroad kame kasama ko papa ko sila yung magkavibe ng papa ko.”
Sarah and Mommy Divine are still not okay with each other after the latter’s crashed their wedding reception. According to Divine, Sarah and Matteo did not inform her of the wedding.
She even called them traitors for keeping the wedding a secret from her.
Only time will tell if there will be a reconciliation with mother and daughter.
