MANILA, 25 MARCH 2020 – Enjoy a plethora of exhilarating movies and series across all WarnerMedia’s entertainment platforms – HBO GO, HBO, Warner TV Cartoon Network, and RED BY HBO, this April. Join crime solving super sleuths in Pokémon Detective Pikachu on HBO and Girl Cops on RED BY HBO, or get wrapped up in family saga in the brand-new HBO original series I Know This Much is True starring Mark Ruffalo. For the young-at-heart, enjoy a return of the ThunderCats in ThunderCats Roar! and join the fun-loving, misfit monsters in Monster Beach on Cartoon Network.

New Movie and Series Premiering on HBO GO, HBO and Warner TV In April
Some of the latest blockbusters airing for the first time on Asian television this April include the urban-fantasy mystery film Pokémon Detective Pikachu, featuring the voice of Ryan Reynolds, and the action-thriller Escape Plan: The Extractors starring Sylvester Stallone and Dave Bautista. Both movies premiere at 9pm on HBO GO and HBO on 4 April and 11 April respectively.

Three brand-new HBO Originals premiere same time as the U.S. exclusively on HBO GO and HBO this April. On 13 April at 10.30am a new half-hour HBO Original comedy series Run debuts. Starring Emmy® winner Merritt Wever and Domhnall Gleeson, Run follows a woman whose humdrum life is thrown upside down when she receives a text from her college sweetheart inviting her to drop everything and meet him in New York to fulfill the pact they made 17 years earlier. On 26 April at 8am, Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney star in the HBO Original Film Bad Education, a high school embezzlement story inspired by true events. The limited HBO Original series, I Know This Much is True, starring Mark Ruffalo as identical twin brothers Dominick and Thomas Birdsey in a family saga that follows their parallel lives in an epic story of betrayal, sacrifice and forgiveness premieres on 28 April at 9am.

Looking for more laughter? Brace yourselves for the hilarious return of the comedy troupe The Tenderloins – Joe Gatto, James Murray, Brian Quinn and Sal Vulcano – as they instigate each other into committing public pranks in Impractical Jokers Season 9, premiering on 14 April, Tuesdays to Thursdays at 8.35pm on Warner TV.

New Kids Series This April

Following the original plot of the ThunderCats series, ThunderCats Roar!, premiering on 10 April at 9am on Cartoon Network, invites viewers on an exciting adventure as the ThunderCats face off a host of villains who attempt to hinder their fresh start on Third Earth. Summer never ends with a bunch of fun-loving, misfit monsters in Monster Beach, surfing up on 25 April, Saturdays and Sundays at 6.30pm on Cartoon Network.

Korean Movies and Series Debuting in April

Catch our Korean ladies as they take on crime in the exciting police drama Girl Cops starring Ra Mi-Ran and Lee Sung-Kyung, which airs 10 April at 10pm on HBO GO and RED BY HBO.

Pokémon Detective Pikachu

Premieres 4 April at 9pm on HBO GO and HBO

When ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, his son Tim embarks on a journey to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu, a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who can only communicate with Tim. They join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Stars Ryan Reynolds, Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton.

Girl Cops

Premieres 10 April at 10pm on HBO GO and RED BY HBO

After a young woman visits the police station to report a case of ‘spy-cam porn’, a pair of mismatched female detectives team up when they become frustrated at the mostly-male police force’s lack of action. Stars Ra Mi-Ran, Lee Sung-Kyung.

 

Girl Cops

Premieres 10 April, Friday at 9am on Cartoon Network

Lion-O and the ThunderCats barely escaped the sudden destruction of their home world, Thundera, and have crash landed on the mysterious and exotic planet called Third Earth. The newly appointed Lord of the ThunderCats, Lion-O, attempts to lead the team as they make Third Earth their new home. A bizarre host of creatures and villains stand in their way, and the ThunderCats have to stop the evil threatening to reign over the planet and their new home.

Escape Plan: The Extractors

Premieres 11 April, Saturday at 9pm on HBO GO and HBO

Kicking this explosive action tale into high gear, security expert Ray Breslin is hired to rescue the kidnapped daughter of a Hong Kong tech mogul from a formidable Latvian prison. In the process, Breslin’s girlfriend is also captured. With his team, they must pull off a deadly rescue mission to confront their sadistic foe and save the hostages before time runs out. Stars Sylvester Stallone, Jaime King, Dave Bautista, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson” and Zhang Jin.

Run

Premieres same time as the U.S. on Monday, 13 April at 10.30am on HBO GO and HBO

Ruby Richardson walks away from her humdrum ordinary life to revisit her past with her college boyfriend, Billy Johnson. 17 years prior, she made a pact with Billy that if either one of them texted the word “RUN” and the other replied with the same, they would drop everything, meet at Grand Central Station, and travel across America together. Stars Emmy® winner Merritt Wever (“Godless,” “Nurse Jackie”) and Domhnall Gleeson (“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” “Ex Machina”). Executive produced by Vicky Jones and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Impractical Jokers Season 9

Premieres 14 April, Tuesdays to Thursdays at 8.35pm on Warner TV

A humiliating high school mishap from 1992 sends the Impractical Jokers on the road, where they compete in hidden camera challenges for the chance to turn back the clock and redeem three of the four. Starring The Tenderloins (Joe Gatto, James Murray, Brian Quinn and Sal Vulcano) and produced by The Tenderloins alongside Chris Henchy and Funny or Die’s Jim Ziegler

Monster Beach

Premieres 25 April, Saturday and Sunday at 6.30pm on Cartoon Network

Enjoying an endless summer vacation, surf-siblings Jan and Dean have a monster good time on the island of Iki-Iki, hanging out with their laidback uncle and a bunch of mischievous, thrill-seeking monsters. Together with their new fiendish friends, they cruise around in hopped-up hot-rods, unravel mysteries of a local surf legend and prevent the bad guys from ruining their fun. Monster Beach is much more fun than your typical tropical getaway. After all, life’s a real adventure when your friends are misfit monsters.

Bad Education

Premieres 26 April same time as the U.S. at 8am on HBO GO and HBO

On the verge of the nation’s top spot and experiencing spurring record college admissions and soaring property values, a popular Long Island school district is rocked by an embezzlement scandal. American school administrator Frank Tassone and his partner Pam Gluckin are forced to maintain order and secrecy – by whatever means necessary. I Know This Much Is True

I Know This Much Is True is a six-part HBO Original limited drama series starring Mark Ruffalo (Emmy® winner for HBO’s “The Normal Heart”), who also serves as an executive producer, as identical twin brothers Dominick and Thomas Birdsey in a family saga that follows their parallel lives in an epic story of betrayal, sacrifice and forgiveness. The series shows Dominick and Thomas at different stages in their lives. The series also stars Melissa Leo and Emmy® winner Rosie O’Donnell.
