Actress Angelica Panganiban did not hold back as she shared her honest observations about some newcomers in the entertainment industry, pointing out what she perceives as a lack of basic courtesy.

During her guest appearance on the ‘Oh My Ghan’ podcast hosted by Ganiel Krishnan, Angelica admitted that she finds it offensive when fellow artists fail to acknowledge others.
“Ako kasi na-offend talaga ako pag hindi namamansin,” she said candidly.
She added, “Hindi mo naman kailangan magbeso eh, ‘diba? Parang nayayabangan lang talaga ako dun sa –ano ba naman ‘yung mag-hi ka.”
When asked if she had encountered such behavior recently, the actress confirmed that she has.
“Oo naman. Oo, ngayon lang. Ang dami talaga,” she shared.
“Siyempre, minsan hindi mo na rin talaga sila kilala. So malaloko na lang, ‘Ha? Artista ‘yun? Hindi siya namamansin ha’.”
Angelica then compared the current environment to her early days in showbiz, emphasizing the importance of respect and humility.
“Kami talaga ‘yung lalapit. Kami magpapakilala. Kasi ganun eh, magpapakilala, magbibigay-pugay ka. I think kahit sa environment naman eh,” she explained.
The issue of professionalism and respect among artists is not new in the industry, with several personalities previously sharing similar sentiments about proper behavior on and off set.
Beyond her observations on showbiz culture, Angelica also spoke candidly about her personal life, particularly her journey into motherhood.
She revealed that she experienced what she believes were “mommy blues” after giving birth to her daughter, describing it as a confusing and emotional transition.
“Noong pagkapanganak ko kasi nagkaroon ako ng feeling ko, depression yata yung tawag doon, dahil feeling ko tumigil yung mundo ko,” she said.
“For the longest time, yung job ko is maingay eh. Nasa harapan ako ng mga tao. Nasa limelight ako. Center of attention ako. Then, nung naging nanay ako, biglang nag-shutdown.”
Angelica admitted she initially struggled to process the sudden shift in her identity.
“Parang ‘what’s next for me?’ Then none. Wala. Ito ka. Ito ka na,” she recalled.
However, over time, she came to understand and embrace motherhood.
“Ang tagal bago ko naintindihan, bago ko na-accept yung role ko na nagbago. And then, nung finally na-accept ko siya, naintindihan ko na hindi pala siya tahimik, mas umingay siya in a good way,” she said.
She also opened up about feeling overwhelmed in the beginning and even hesitating to ask for help.
“Nahiya ako magtanong kahit sa friends ko, kahit sa mama ko. Kasi feeling ko maja-judge ako,” she shared.
Angelica credited her husband, Gregg Homan, for being a strong source of support during that time.
“Yeah, sobra niyang present sa mga panahon na ‘yun. Sa sobrang supportive niya, pinakinggan lang niya talaga yung nararamdaman ko,” she said.
She added that Gregg even encouraged her to return to work after noticing how staying at home was affecting her.
“Bago ako bumalik sa acting, may mga parinig na siya na, ‘Balik ka na kaya mag-work?’ Kasi parang ako nababaliw sa bahay.”
“Nung nakabalik ako ng work, nakita niya dahan-dahan na nababawasan yung heaviness ko,” she continued.
Angelica also shared insights about relationships, emphasizing the importance of self-love before entering one.
Currently, Angelica is making her showbiz comeback after focusing on her personal life. She stars in ‘The Silent Noise’, which she described as one of the most challenging and rewarding projects in her career.
