Comedian Babajie is now in critical condition at San Lazaro Hospital, as posted on his Facebook account managed by one of his siblings.
“Di na po siya makabangon at nagpapagaling na po sya. Humihingi po ako ng tulong na isama sa dasal ang kapatid namin na tuloy tuloy na makarecover at muli namin siyang makasama.”
Without disclosing Babajie’s illness, the post has garnered 363 shares and 314 comments from netizens praying for his fast recovery.

Babajie used to be one of the extras in the longest-running gag show of GMA Network, Bubble Gang. He started as just a fan who consistently watched the show’s tapings and then he was noticed due to his unusual long chin. People used to mock him as ‘mangga’, ‘kasoy’, and ‘deadly weapon.’
Last September 2019, Babajie became viral when he posted a photo with an Italian guy who was born in Naples but raised in Cebu.
Babajie and Ciro first met on Eat Bulaga via a mutual friend and the latter immediately gave his cellphone number and Facebook account details to Babajie. In an interview with Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho, Ciro revealed that they both agreed to post their photos online just for fun. Later on, Babajie said he decided to remain just friends with Ciro as the latter is busy with his studies.
Babajie stated: “Busy lang kami sa ginagawa kasi nag-aaral siya tapos nagtatrabaho ako. Nag-usap na lang kami… Sabi ko, ‘Friends na lang tayo. Marami pa tayong ginagawa. Nag-aaral ka pa.”
