Queen Mother Karla Estrada took to social media to defend her son Daniel Padilla and his girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo who had become the target of trolls.
On Instagram, Karla said, “Sila ang dalawa sa pinakakamamahal kong tao sa buong mundo. Bilang momshie nila gagawin ko ang lahat para protektahan sila.”

Karla led a twitter party with the hashtag, #WeBlockAsOne to condemn Banat By’s (real name Byron Cristobal, Mocha Uson’s manager) harsh comments on KathNiel. This was supported by thousands of KathNiel fans.

This started when Vlogger Banat By criticized the KathNiel love team for their opinions on the recent shutdown of the stars’ home network, ABS-CBN.
Banat By called out Kathryn in his Livestream titled “Bakit Mail Si Kathryn”. In his video, he explained how Kathryn shouldn’t talk about the toxicity of others because she was in the entertainment industry.
On her Instagram, Kathryn said, “Sa mga kabataan, sana wag kayong matakot kasi kagaya ‘nyo rin ako, natakot ako. Pero kung hindi kasi tayo magsasalita ngayon, sino? Tayo ‘yung magmamana ng Pilipinas kaya may karapatan tayo.”

Meanwhile, Daniel shared, “Bago ho ako maging artista, tao at Filipino ho muna ako. Kaya sana huwag ninyong ipagkait sa aming ang karapatan naming na magpahayag ng saloobin.”
