Kim Chiu was bashed by netizens due to her controversial statement when she compared the National Telecommunications Commission’s cease and desist order to classroom rules, as some of netizens could not understand the logic she was trying to convey during the “Laban Kapamilya” online protest.
Xian Lim came to defend his girlfriend Kim through an Instagram post. He emphasized that Kim is a smart, empathetic person that cares about all the people around her and for that, Kim does not deserve to be singled out.
Xian posted: “Kim does not deserve to be singled out and get all the hate she is getting from people in the internet. She is a smart, empathetic person who deeply cares for all the people around her. She cares so much that it scares me. We are not perfect. No one is. We have our share of mishaps that shake us down to the ground but we learn and we rise back up again. My love and support goes out to Kim for being a wonderful human being.”
Furthermore, Xian firmly believes that netizens must stop criticizing Kim for her statement, as it doesn’t make our situation better. He also posed a question for all his followers at the end of his post.
Xian asked: “We have little time in our hands. It’s really a matter of asking yourself how well you want to be remembered when your time is up.”

Kim said: “Sa classroom, may batas. Bawal lumabas. O, bawal lumabas, pero pag sinabi, pag nag-comply ka na bawal lumabas. Pero may ginawa ka sa pinagbabawal nila, inayos mo yung law ng classroom niyo at sinubmit mo uli, ay puwede na pala ikaw lumabas.”
NTC directed ABS-CBN to stop operating its various TV and radio broadcasting stations nationwide last Tuesday, May 5, 2020, a day after the network’s franchise expired.
The decision of NTC to issue a cease and desist order came after Solicitor General Jose Calida warned its officials for possible graft charges, despite Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba said in a statement during a Senate hearing: “May I assure this committee that barring a gross violation of this franchise of the NTC rules and regulations, the NTC will follow the latest advice of the DOJ and let ABS-CBN continue operations based on equity.”

As per Xian, it’s the last thing that they can do to protect their relationship because they firmly believe that when a lot of people know the truth about it at an early stage, their relationship will be more fragile.
