Model-actor Teejay Marquez admitted that he is open to same-sex relationships.
This is exactly what the actor said when he and his co-star Jerome Ponce were interviewed for the BL series Ben x Jim by showbiz writer Allan Diones.
During the digital press conference of Ben X Jim, Teejay had said that he did not have a hard time feeling kilig moments on the set.
“Sobrang galing magpakilig ni Jerome, kaya di ko na kailangan pang ipilit na kiligin. Kaya kusa na lang lumalabas.”
He even said that if he were a girl he would court Jerome himself. “Magaling talagang magpakilig si Jerome. Lahat yata, e. Kung babae lang ako, liligawan ko iyan.”
He also praised Jerome for how he was very dedicated to his role.
“Sobrang sensible at saka hindi ko in-expect na very dedicated as an actor, kaya talagang nakaka-inspire siyang katrabaho.”
When the actor was asked if there’s a possibility of him having feelings for the same sex, Teejay directly confessed that he’s very open.
“Siyempre. Yes naman, Wala namang pinipili yung love. Love is for everybody.”
One thing that matters for him that there should be mutual feelings between the person that is interested in him may it be man or woman, “Ako, as long as mutual yung nararamdaman namin, kahit sino ka pa, kahit ano ka pa, kung mutual at parehas tayong masaya, sige…”
“I mean, hindi mo masasabi, e. Kapag tinamaan ka, tatamaan ka. So, kung kanino man iyan at sino man siya, di ba? It’s for you to find out and for you to… parang to take risk, kasi mahal mo, e.
“Kumbaga, let life surprise me. And kung magkakaroon ako ng pagkakataon na p’wedeng same sex ‘yong magiging ka-partner ko, basta mahal ko walang problema. Basta mahal ko po. Basta magiging masaya kami.”
This may have also been the reason why the Teejay is not feeling awkward about doing gay roles,
“If ever naman may mang-asar sa akin, wala naman sa akin iyon. At least, I can do my best on both worlds. Kaya kong magpakaganito kasi… I mean, I’m confident. Hindi ako naiilang.
“Basta ako, I just go with the flow, I’m enjoying my life, and I’m enjoying. Mas marami ako napapasaya na mga tao. Iyon ang mas importante para sa akin.”
