Derek Ramsay admitted about his one-month relationship with Cristine Reyes and clarified that they are still close friends.
In his interview with talk show host and reporter Cristy Fermin in Cristy Ferminute, Ramsay said that Reyes was one of his closest friends.
“Naging girlfriend ko din si Cristine (Reyes). Well, kami kasi ni Cristine. Super close kami ni Cristine. Si Cristine Reyes po, she was one of my closest friends nung kami pa ni Angelica.
Tapos nung naghiwalay nga kami ni Angelica, we still maintained that friendship,” said Ramsay.
Ramsay recounted how his relationship formed with Reyes. It happened when they were doing the film Trophy Wife.
“Tapos nagkasama kami everyday kasi ginagawa namin yung pelikula na Trophy Wife, na ilang beses ni-reshoot.
“So, umabot ata ng two years yung pelikulang ‘yon. And galing din sya sa break, galing din ako sa break, so alam mo yung dalawang magkaibigan na sobrang komportable sa isa’t isa na naisip na may nangyari lang na tapos ‘dapat siguro bigyan natin ng chance to kasi sobrang kilala na natin ang isa’t isa’.” Ramsay recounted how it all began.
After a month, both of them realized that their relationship would not work as boyfriend-girlfriend and ended the relationship amicably.
“Pero yun nga dahil sa sobrang kilala na namin ang isa’t isa, after one month, napagusapan namin na alam mo hindi talaga tayo pang boyfriend-girlfriend. Pang kaibigan lang talaga.
“And now, magkaibigan kami. Wala kaming bad blood. We talk, updated ako sa nangyayari sa buhay nya. Walang problema sa amin ni Cristine,” said Ramsay.
Apart from Trophy Wife, Ramsay and Reyes worked in No Other Woman with Anne Curtis-Smith. In August of 2013, Ramsay admitted having a relationship with Reyes.
