Yam Concepcion’s wish from nine years ago has finally come true as she currently stars in a TV series with Gerald Anderson.
The universe conspired with her–it is like a law of attraction.
Concepcion previously mentioned that she wanted to work with Anderson as she found the actor ‘talented’ and ‘good-looking.’
“I think he’s really talented and he’s very good-looking,” the actress is thrilled to share.
She said it nine years ago when Concepcion was still new in the industry as she was still promoting her launching movie Rigodon, which Erik Matti directed back then.
Concepcion’s wish came true as she currently stars with Anderson and JM De Guzman in the series Init sa Magdamag.
The series recently premiered on April 19 and is broadcasted on Kapamilya Channel
About the controversy surrounding her co-star Anderson being a playboy, the actress defended the actor and said that he is very professional.
She chuckled over the comments and the reminders the netizens gave her back then.
“Nababasa ko ‘yung mga comments. Nakakatawa at nakakatuwa na makita ‘yung reaction nila.
“Nakakatawa kasi sabi ng mga netizens, ‘O, Yam, mag-iingat ka kay Gerald, ah!’ Iyon ‘yung mga nababasa ko.”
The 32-year-old actress also said that she doesn’t have to worry about the actor as he treats her properly.
“Honestly, hindi ko naman kailangan mag-ingat. Siyempre nakikita nila sa TV, sinasabi nila, ‘Naku, matinik sa babae ‘yan! Hindi loyal.’ Hindi, eh.
“‘Pag katrabaho mo si Gerald, he’s very professional at saka very gentleman. Hindi niya pinaramdam sa akin na may mali siya,” Concepcion defended Anderson.
She mentioned that her role in the series Init sa Magdamag is not new to her previous roles since she already acted in intimate scenes.
However, she needed to have more emotions with her current character and improve her acting skills.
“Actually yung mga ginagawa kong roles simula nu’ng nag-start ako sa showbiz lahat sexy. So parating ganu’n yung image ko. Pero feeling ko dito sa teleserye na-challenge ako more than just being sexy.
“Na-test yung vulnerability ko bilang actor at bilang tao din. Grabe as in na-push ako sa kung anong kaya kong ibigay na emosyon and na-experience ko din yung mga emotions na hindi ko pa na-e-experience dati.”
Concepcion rose to fame with her daytime series Dugong Buhay (2013) with Ejay Falcon and Arjo Atayde. She also appeared in Halik (2018) with Jericho Rosales, Sam Concepcion and Yen Santos. Her latest series, Love Thy Woman (2020), where she played the third wheel in the loveteam of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim.
