Kapuso actor Paul Salas and actress Barbie Forteza reacted to I Can See You‘s Hollywood standard filming and compares the GMA Network anthology series to the Netflix series, Black Mirror.

In the press conference for the crime-thriller, I Can See You: The Lookout, Salas compared the GMA Network’s anthology series to Black Mirror.

He also commended the teleserye’s quick-paced storytelling with different stories to tell every week.

“Yung I Can See You na production. Kasi nakikita ko na para syang, i-compare natin sa Hollywood, para syang Black Mirror. Iba’t ibang episode, iba’t ibang istorya na pinapakita nila. Pero sobrang ganda. Naho-hook lahat ng tao kasi nga iba’t iba yung stars, iba’t iba yung mga magagaling na actor nag-poportray ng iba’t ibang character at kakaibang story so sobrang happy ako,” Salas said in glee.

He also added that he always dreamed of portraying a role similar to the 2016 thriller, Don’t Breathe.

“Dream ko rin kasi na magkaganito rin eh. Mala-Don’t Breathe vibes. Sana naman ma-appreciate nila dahil talagang nag-work kami dito. Talagang binigay namin yung best namin dito.”

While for Forteza, she lauded GMA Network’s leap from romantic comedies. She also considered her role in the anthology series as challenging but exciting.

“Ako din po, para sa akin ano sya, sobrang big leap ng GMA from the RomCom ganyan, and kahit ako masasabi ko yung role ko dito, kakaiba talaga sa usual na ibinibigay po sa akin. Kaya bilang artista, It was very challenging. And, at the same time, exciting.”

For the series itself, she described it as well-written, well-executed, and of Hollywood standard.

“Para naman sa they way na yung story, it was well-written, well-executed as well. Sabi ko nga ‘para na tayong ano eh, huma-Hollywood na rin talaga eh.”

Coincidentally, Netflix has already added the anthology series I Can See You into its streaming shows alongside Black Mirror.

With that, GMA Network offers the latest installment for their second season of the anthology series: I Can See You: The Lookout.

The crime thriller series stars Forteza, Salas, and returning Kapusos Christopher de Leon and Alandy.  Jules Katanyag is the director with associate director LA Madridejos.

The mini-series airs this April 19-23, 2021, right after First Yaya on GMA 7 and GMA Pinoy TV.
