Onscreen lovers MayWard (Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber) apologized to each other after their misunderstandings and having been involved in a controversy.
For Barber’s finale episode for his Kumu online show “Kwentong Barber” that premiered on Wednesday, May 19, he confronted Entrata about their misunderstanding and apologized to the actress as well.
The 20-year-old actor took the finale episode of his show as an opportunity to clear things up with Entrata.
“I never asked you. I never got to talk to you about it. A lot of things that were not true were said. I never got to clear up everything with you,” said Barber.
Entrata seemed shocked by the actor’s sudden confrontation but she said that even if they did everything they can to clear Barber’s name from the rumors thrown at him, the rumors still can’t be stopped.
“Pero yun nga kahit anong gawin, kahit anong sabi natin, may iba talagang hindi tumitigil,” Maymay said.
She then assured the young actor that she stands by him saying, “Ang importante ay kaming mga naniniwala sayo at kilala ka, importante na enough na yung alam namin yung totoo. Di mo na kailangan gawin pa ang mga bagay na makapagpapasaya sa ibang tao para sa approval nila.”
Aside from the unspecified rumor that the two talked about, Maymay also addressed the misunderstanding between them. She asked for forgiveness for the times that she can’t protect the actor from the rumors.
She said, “Gusto ko rin humingi ng pasensya sayo kung hindi enough yung bilang isang kaibigan, paano kita poprotektahan. Kasi nung time na yun may hindi tayo pagkakaintindihan. Tas nangyari sa ‘yo yun. Sorry kung wala ako roon.”
Barber then said that the 24-year-old actress did nothing wrong. He owned up to his mistakes and even apologized for putting the actress in a difficult situation.
“You did nothing wrong. You did everything right. Even when we worked together dun sa movie, you had my back. You supported me. And thank you for that. Hindi mo alam yung weight na na-lift sa chest ko after hearing those words,” he said.
“I’ve made my own mistakes, realizing stuff through failure. It’s one of the reasons why until now there are certain things I have struggles forgiving myself for. One of them is putting you in a situation where you got hurt or other people got hurt,” Edward explained.
The love team MayWard started in Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 as the two were housemates in the reality show. MayMay emerged as the Lucky Big Winner while Edward was the 4th Lucky Big Placer.
The two became part of films like ‘Da One That Ghost Away’ (2018) and headlined ‘Loving in Tandem’ back in 2017.
They recently starred in the film ‘Princess DayaReese’ which was ABS-CBN’s opening salvo for 2021.
The said movie was MayWard’s reunion as a love team after 2 years. Their last appearance was in the movie Fantastica in 2018.
