Onscreen lovers MayWard (Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber) star in ABS-CBN’s opening salvo for 2021 as they top bill Star Cinema’s romance movie called Princess DayaReese.
The official Facebook page of Star Cinema posted the trailer for MayWard’s upcoming movie which already garnered about 1.4 million views.
Star Cinema also posted the trailer on YouTube which already has about 700k views from netizens.
Maymay promoted ‘Princess DayaReese’ on Twitter as well and celebrated the movie’s achievement of garnering 1 million views for its trailer in less than 24 hours.

According to an article by ABS-CBN news, the movie follows the story of Reese (Maymay) who accepted posing as a princess of a small kingdom in exchange for money. She happens to resemble the real princess so she steps in for her lookalike. Her predicament then comes with keeping up her disguise that includes falling for a guy that knows her secret.
The movie will premiere on January 1, 2021, making it the first local film to be released nationwide in selected cinemas. It will also stream on different platforms such as KTX.ph, iWant TFC, TFC, Sky Cable PPV, and Cignal PPV.
The cast of the movie also includes Snooky Serna, Epy Quizon, Pepe Herrera, Chie Filomeno, Alora Sasam, Igi Boy Flores, Neil Coleta, CJ Salonga, Gold Azeron, Christine Samson, Takuhei Kaneko, Big Mac Andaya, and Miko Penaloza. The movie will be directed by Barry Gonzales.
The upcoming movie will be MayWard’s reunion as a love team after 2 years. Their last appearance was in the movie Fantastica in 2018.
The love team MayWard started in Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 as the two were housemates in the reality show. MayMay emerged as the Lucky Big Winner while Edward was the 4th Lucky Big Placer.
The two became part of films like Da One That Ghost Away (2018) and headlined Loving in Tandem back in 2017.
Even after being forced to shut down, ABS-CBN still manages to offer the people fresh movies and series and continues to cope with the challenges it encounters.

ABS-CBN also prepared a list of series for 2021 such as: Darna: The TV Series starring Jane de Leon; Huwag Kang Mangamba\ starring Francine Diaz, Andrea Brillantes, Kyle Echarri, and Seth Fedelin; Init sa Magdamag starring Yam Concepcion, Gerald Anderson, and JM de Guzman; La Vida Lena starring Erich Gonzales, Carlo Aquino, Kit Thompson, and JC de Vera; and Almost Paradise starring American actor Christian Kane.
