Kapuso series First Yaya is not a rival for the upcoming teleserye, The World Between Us who will replace the show this coming July.
That is what Alden Richards, one of the lead actors in the series, thinks.
He reasoned that he does not think of First Yaya as a competition since it is also a product of GMA Network. According to the actor, the Network gave its all in making every show appealing to its Kapuso viewers.
“Actually parang wala sa isip ko to compete with other shows eh. Kung anong meron kami…actually lahat ng shows ng GMA ganun, pinaghihirapan, pinapaganda, para maging appealing sa audience,” explained Richards in the show’s press conference, Thursday, June 24.
More than that, Richards further explained that it is their job, as artists, to make the show more interesting.
“And yun din ang trabaho namin. Pinapaganda namin ‘tong The World Between Us para maging kaaya-aya siyang panuorin,” he added.
The actor is not even aiming to reach the level that First Yaya has set. Instead, he was happy to see that the show that they are about to replace is faring well in terms of ratings.
“Wala kaming gustong pantayan na ibang shows. And we’re very happy kasi siyempre sa GMA din ang First Yaya. And we’re very happy that it performed well. We are looking forward, hopefully, sa show na ‘to. All of us are very optimistic about the outcome of this teleserye. We’ll see ‘pag umere na kami.”
But that is not the case for the show’s director, Direk Dominic Zapata.
Zapata was thankful that First Yaya has set the bar high. This means that viewers are anticipating that the show’s replacement will be as good, if not much better, than its predecessor.
“Sa amin, makakatulong sa amin yun. Nagpapasalamat kami sa First Yaya na pinataas nila ang rating ng first slot. Nagkaron na ng habit, na mag tune in ang audience dun,” thanked the director.
Also, Zapata assured Kapuso viewers and the team of First Yaya that The World Between Us will not disappoint them. As his project is set to be in the first slot in the Kapuso Telebabad, the director promised that his show will continue what First Yaya has started.
“And I will guarantee First Yaya, na we will not let you down. We will not come up with a show that is inferior with what you’ve done. Pagpapatuloy namin ang first slot. Thank you sa GMA for giving us this opportunity. And we guarantee you that we will not let you down in terms of the quality that First Yaya has done,” promised the director.
The World Between Us is set to premiere this coming July. It is top-billed by three of GMA Network’s brightest stars, Alden Richards, Jasmine Curtis Smith, and Tom Rodriguez.
It tells the story of Luisito “Louie” Asuncion (Alden) and Emilia “Lia” Libradilla (Jasmine). Both of them grew up in the house of the Libradillas. And as fate dictates that they are meant for each other, that’s when they realize that there are people committed to keeping them apart.
Meanwhile, Tom Rodriguez will play Bryan, Lia’s older brother, who will help them prove the power of love.
