QUEST is all pumped-up as he releases the official music video of “Ikaw Lang” – his newest single under Warner Music Philippines (WMP) and XXV South Records.
Known for such massive anthemic hits such as “Saludo,” “Sige Lang,” “Walang Hanggan,” and “Kalawakan,” Quest is undoubtedly one of the top artists in WMP’s current roster and the bravura of his unmistakable artistry as a singer and songwriter is once again showcased in “Ikaw Lang,” which is part of his EP Para Sayo.
Quest describes “Ikaw Lang” as a daydream song centered on hopeful longing and being the right person for a special someone while missing a person he has not even met yet. With the idea of falling in love and nurturing it, he toyed with the words ikaw lang and started creating the song. With everybody in lockdown, the process of producing “Ikaw Lang” challenged everyone involved to be creative and put it all together remotely through online communication and social media.
With its heartfelt lyrics and its universal theme of love and longing coupled with the romantic and catchy music that Quest created in collaboration with Kris Malana, Franco Tantay, and Rogelio Rico Silagan, fans are in unison that “Ikaw Lang” is a fast-rising favorite and another surefire hit that best embodies love in the time of the pandemic.
“Love is very fluid. Love can be expressed in so many ways especially now in the digital age. But the very core of love is still the same. Patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness, self-control, respect, trust, selflessness, sacrifice. And these are major themes of ‘Ikaw Lang’,” says Quest.
Quest also reveals that he is currently gearing up for a full-length album that features all the songs that he has written, produced, and recorded during the pandemic, “This is one of the major plans that we are working on which I hope to accomplish within this year. Of course, I’m also hoping for the end of the pandemic, that everyone gets vaccinated, and for us to have live shows again.”
With over 10,000 views on YouTube, the official music video of “Ikaw Lang” is conceptualized by Quest and is directed by Dominic Dimagmaliw with a special appearance by Ayn Bernos.
