Squad Plus members Renshi De Guzman and Danica Ontengco revealed that they look up to KathNiel for their onscreen chemistry.
In the virtual media conference event for La Vida Lena, De Guzman admitted that he looks up to KathNiel as one of the iconic love teams in the country.
“‘Yung nilu-look up ko po talaga is KathNiel po. Sila po talaga yung pagdating sa chemistry. Pagdating sa galing makikita mo po sa kanila and sobrang dami mo pong matututunan sa kanila na pwede mong mai-apply. Hindi man natin mai-apply ng lahat talaga pero mayroon pong natulong ‘yung pagtingin sa kanila.”
Ontengco then echoed De Guzman, adding that she feels inspired by KathNiel’s natural kilig.
“Ako naman po, same rin po KathNiel din po talaga. Talaga pong pinapanood ko po ‘yung shows nila yung mga movies nila. And, super inspiring rin po ng sobrang natural lang na kilig.”
De Guzman also revealed how he and Ontengco work on their chemistry.
“Winork po namin sya na nag-uusap kami, kinilala po namin ‘yung isa’t isa para mas alam namin, para mas comfortable. Tapos inaaral po namin yung script.”
Ontengco agreed, saying that they spend time together to build on their friendship.
“First time namin magkita noong first taping namin. Alam na kasi namin yung roles namin so kinilala po talaga namin ‘yung isa’t isa, lagi kaming magkasama, lagi kaming sabay kumain, kahit saan po lagi kami magkasama. So parang nabuo na rin po yung friendship namin. So I think it helped po.”
Both of them join the cast of La Vida Lena.
La Vida Lena‘s lead includes Erich Gonzales, Carlo Aquino, Kit Thompson, and JC De Vera. The series also boasts of a powerhouse cast of supporting actors including, Janice De Belen, Agot Isidro, Raymond Bagatsing, Christian Vasquez, Pen Medina, Ruby Ruiz, Soliman Cruz, Malou Crisologo, Josh Ivan Morales, and Hasna Cabral.
The series directed by Jerry Lopez-Sineneng, Jojo Saguin, and Andoy Ranay originally streamed on iWant TFC in November of 2020. However, the production promises more dramatic scenes with the airing of La Vida Lena on the Kapamilya Channel and A2Z this June 28.
