Kapamilya’s TV Patrol to stop its stream on Facebook after more than a year of streaming on the social media platform.

TV Patrol‘s weather anchor Kim Atienza made the revelation in an episode of his KimChen gap show with Gretchen Fullido.

“Ibabalita po namin ni Gretchen, this is our last two days sa facebook. Mawawala na po ang TV Patrol sa facebook.

“Mawawala ang KimChen gap show at TV Patrol sa facebook.”

Fullido said that they were just informing the public so that people will not get shocked if TV Patrol were to stop its streaming on facebook.

“Nililinaw lang po namin para informed po kayo.

“Totoo po iyan, hindi po kami nagbibiro,” Atienza added.

He explained that the reason why TV Patrol would stop its streaming on facebook, “For personal reasons and for professional reasons we shall be not on facebook anymore. So, goodbye facebook.”

Since the ABS-CBN was denied a fresh franchise, it was forced to shut down its free TV and radio broadcasting operations.

The network’s shows were then forced to migrate to streaming online as well as on pay television and cable channel.

On May 7, 2020, TV Patrol temporarily migrated to ANC, The Filipino Channel (TFC), Cine Mo! as well as on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and iWant.

ABS-CBN’s digital platforms are not covered by the cease-and-desist order of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) that prohibits ABS-CBN from continuing its broadcast operations on television and radio.

Despite stopping its streaming on facebook, TV Patrol is still available on Kapamilya Channel, ANC, TeleRadyo, and online through iWantTFC, TFC IPTV, and Kapamilya Online Live as well as on TFC.

Meanwhile, an article from reportr revealed that the social media platform Facebook remains to be the top social source of the latest updates at 73%, followed by YouTube at 53%, Facebook messenger at 36%, Twitter at 19%, and Instagram at 12%.

TV Patrol streamed on Facebook intending to reach more people to stream its news.
