Kapamilya artist JC Alcantara recalled how he began his career with ABS-CBN amid the network’s shutdown.

In an exclusive interview, Alcantara shared his showbiz journey, admitting he was a fan of Goin’ Bulilit.

“So si Nash Aguas, ginagaya ko ‘yung pag-arte n’ya. And ‘yun nga, pagnanonood ako ng may mga audition.

“Nagpupunta ako like sa PBB.

He then recalled the number of rejections he faced back then.

And then, at that time sumuko na ako.

Thankfully, one of Alcantara’s auditions panned out, and it resulted in him becoming a Kapamilya.

“Then, last commercial, na last VTR ko, natanggap ako.

So mas nakita ko, ‘ah ABS-CBN talaga. Kaya pinuntahan ko talaga s’ya.”

When the pandemic hit and ABS-CBN shut down in 2020, Alcantara went through various struggles just when his career’s starting.

“Ang daming pumasok na problema sa akin, so na-depress ako that time.

Fortunately, his Hello Stranger The Series role came in and helped him solidify his career as a Kapamilya artist.

Alcantara starred in Black Sheep’s Hello Stranger The Series opposite Tony Labrusca. Due to its success, the series paved the way for Hello Stranger, the Movie.

He also released his single, Please Na Miss Kita.

In June, Alcantara signed as an official Star Magic artist during the Star Magic Black Pen Event.
