CJ Opiaza has officially been crowned Miss Grand International 2024, marking a historic moment as she becomes the first Filipina to win the coveted golden crown.
The coronation ceremony took place on Tuesday, June 3, in Bangkok, Thailand, where an emotional CJ received her title from MGI founder Nawat Itsaragrisil.
In her heartfelt victory speech, CJ shared an inspiring message: “I know the best things happen for a reason. You just have to wait for that very specific moment, but you have to hold on and do whatever it takes.”
She added, “I am always ready—and now I’ve been given the challenge, and I am taking the challenge and the responsibility… now, as your Miss Grand International 2024.”
CJ’s win comes after the dethronement of Rachel Gupta of India, the original winner of the pageant. Following the turn of events, CJ—who had been among the runners-up—was elevated to take the crown.
