“Dapat i-enjoy natin ngayon dahil ang direktor natin ngayon ay si John Prats,” Vhong Navarro proudly revealed on July 9 during theTawag ng Tanghalan segment of It’s Showtime.
After years of working in front of the camera as an actor-dancer-choreographer, Prats is now slowly transitioning to working behind the scenes as he recently directed the noontime show It’s Showtime.
Vhong did not clarify if John will be the permanent host of the said show.
However, this is not the first time that Prats directed the show because he is also the director of the It’s Showtime segment, Reina ng Tahanan.
Prats also directed the ABS-CBN Christmas Special in December 2020.
On Instagram, Prats shared a photo of him working for It’s Showtime and captioned it with a quote, “A great director gives life to a work of art- gives it a heartbeat… a pulse… opens its eyes to the world.”

Bobet Vidanes is the original director of the noontime show however, following the shutdown of ABS-CBN, he left It’s Showtime. Since then, the show has had different directors including John Prats.
