Johnny “Mr. M” Manahan reminisced about his friendship with the late German Molina Moreno, also known as Kuya Germs.
In Sanya Lopez’s contract renewal held on Thursday, July 29, Mr. M noted that Kuya Germs would be happy with the Kapuso female star’s decision to stay with the Network.
“Kung nasan man siya ngayon, nakangiti nang malaki si Kuya Germs,” said Manahan.
Kuya Germs was one of the first ones who believed in the talents of Lopez. The now-deceased talent manager became Lopez’s bridge to stardom.
Mr. M then explained how far he would go for Kuya Germs because he respects him.
“Mula noon hanggang ngayon, malaki ang paghanga ko kay Kuya Germs, malalim ang respeto ko sa kanya.
“Kaya kapag tumatawag noon si Kuya Germs sa akin at humihingi ng artista ‘yan, kahit nandoon ako sa isang artist center, go kaagad, parating go basta si Kuya Germs,” he said.
Kuya Germs died at 82 years old in January 2016. He suffered a stroke and was rushed to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City, but was later pronounced dead.
He had a fruitful career with the GMA Network. Netizens dropped hints on who they want to become the Network’s next “Kuya Germs‘.
On the facebook page of Kapuse Netizens, an admin posted an edited photo of Mr. M on the poster of Kuya Germs’s show Walang Tulugan with Master Showman and changed it to Walang Tulugan with Johnny Manahan.
Netizens seem to have accepted this crossover and even said that GMA Network will get ‘level up’ with their artists and shows under Manahan.
Johnny “Mr. M” Manahan recently became a Kapuso as he officially signed with the Network on July 13.
