Based on TV ratings, GMA Network’s 24 Oras is still the number one source of news and information in the country.
GMA Network programs continue their reign on free TV as their biggest competitor, ABS-CBN, remains franchise-less.
The news show 24 Oras consistently tops the rating chart released by AGB Nielsen.
24 Oras earned a 17.2% rating on Monday, August 2, and 16.4% the following day, August 3.
On Thursday, August 5, the show recorded an 18.0% rating, one of its highest ratings ever.
Throughout the days, 24 Oras consistently remains as the most-watched TV program in the country, topping the said rating chart.
It also has about a 4-6% gap from the 2nd and 3rd programs, The World Between Us and Legal Wives.
In terms of online views, its replay episodes for last week garnered 300k to 500k YouTube views. However, 24 Oras views are far cry from ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol has around 600k to 800k views on the same platform.
Despite this, TV ratings suggest that viewers depend much on 24 Oras for news, current affairs, and information.
