At the contract renewal with GMA Network on August 16, 2021, the twins–Mavy and Cassy Legaspi admitted that they feel excited and scared about the prospect of working with their parents–Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi.
Mavy said he looks forward to working with his parents, but Cassy admitted feeling scared.
He then explained their parents would’ve treated them as artists rather than kids if they get a chance to work with each other.
“Ako kasi hindi, kasi alam namin kapag trabaho, hindi na kami ‘yung ano. ‘Yung level of respect is not mother-son; or mother-daughter, or father and daughter; or father and son. Artist to artist na. So doon ako excited at gusto ko makita ‘yun.
“At irerespect ko sila as bilang Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi. Hindi ‘yung Mama at Papa. Because ‘you know work is work.”
Cassy and Mavy shared that their parents tell them hard truths when it comes to their careers.
“Sa First Yaya, they would always say na, they’re proud of me. But of course, if I need to improve somewhere, sasabihin nila sa akin,” said Cassy.
“It’s just there are things na people around you won’t say and that they will say. ‘Yan ‘yung importante. ‘Yan ‘yung hindi nakikita ng ibang tao,” Mavy clarified.
“The hard truths,” Cassy added.
The twins agreed that they want to forge their paths in showbiz.
“Even with all the tips and what we’ve learned from our parents, I’m really the type na to go my own way. And to forge the path for myself.
“It’s kind of rebellious kasi ginagawa ko pa rin for me to experience it. Parang, I can learn with my very own decisions,” Mavy shared.
“I feel like it’s very /important, especially entering this industry na we start to kind of separate in go do our own thing. We entered the showbiz world to be our own person.
“Yes, we are twins, but we are very different. And we want to showcase that to people,” Cassy continued.
Both entered showbiz in 2017.
From then on, the two have become staples in GMA Network variety shows, such as All-Out Sundays.
Then, the twins pursued their respective careers in GMA Network. Cassy recently starred in the Kapuso series First Yaya. Mavy, on the other hand, will star in the upcoming teleserye, I Left My Heart in Sorsogon.
