Amid ongoing buzz about her personal life, Ivana Alawi chose to focus on positivity in her latest YouTube vlog titled ‘Buhay Ospital’ — a moving charity feature filmed at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC).
The actress and vlogger made a point of showing how careful her team was in producing the content, emphasizing that they had secured all necessary permissions well in advance.
“Since last year pa kami nag-prepare sa pagkuha ng mga permit at pagpapaalam sa lahat ng tao na makikita sa video na ito,” Ivana said in the video’s opening disclaimer, clarifying that their visit was coordinated with proper consent from the hospital and the individuals involved.
The vlog documented her emotional visit to PCMC, where she personally interacted with young patients, their families, and the hospital staff. Moved by their stories, Ivana provided financial aid of ₱50,000 each to several children to help with their medical and daily expenses.
“Napakahirap kasi magkasakit. Financially, mentally, everything. Kaya ‘eto, ano lang siya, maliit na tulong. Touched nga ako kanina kasi parang sabi nila na big thing na pumunta ako dito kasi sumaya sila,” she said, visibly emotional during the visit.
Ivana also appealed to her viewers not to skip the ads in the video so that all proceeds could be donated to the hospital. “Mabigat makapanood ng mga ganitong kuwento pero ang pakiusap ko sana, wag niyo po sana i-skip ang mga ads, dahil lahat ng kikitain ng video na ito ay ido-donate natin sa Philippine Children’s Medical Center. Maraming salamat po,” she added.
She admitted that witnessing the strength and struggles of the children made her reflect on her own life. “Sobrang hirap nu’ng nakita ko ‘yung sitwasyon nila, tapos umaarte ako sa mga problema ko. ‘Yung ibang mga bata, mas malaki ‘yung problema nila. Tapos ‘pag tinatanong natin sila, ‘ano ‘yung wish mo?’ Ang wish lang nila, gumaling. Feeling ko, ang laki ng mga problema ko.”
Throughout the vlog, Ivana engaged warmly with both patients and healthcare workers, recognizing the selflessness and dedication of the doctors and nurses. She gave special mention to one nurse and a doctor who assisted her during her hospital tour, gifting them with brand-new phones in appreciation.
“Grabe, nakaka-touch talaga sa puso,” Ivana said. “We have to wake up every day knowing that we are blessed.”
