Kapuso star Derrick Monasterio, after being single for more than a year, reveals he is currently courting someone, however, there is a catch—the girl has an on-screen partner.
During the virtual press conference for his upcoming single Virgo, which is bound to be released on August 20, Derrick could not avoid the questions about his love life.
When asked about the status of his relationship, the actor, without revealing the actress’s identity, responded that he is in “private mode” when it comes to his dating life.
“Medyo private na tayo sa love life. May kinakausap ako pero di pa naman official. Usa- usap lang.
“Siguro parang ligaw na rin kasi may mga ‘kumain ka na ba?”’ganyan-ganyan na eh. Alam mo yan ‘pag may ganyan-ganyan ‘di ba,” answered the actor-singer.
It is a bit complicated for Derrick since the girl is currently paired with someone else.
“Oo. ‘Di pa pwede i-share kasi baka magalit ang mga fans…kaya di ko sinasabi kung sino. Mahirap na baka paghiwalayin kami wala pa man din,” he said.
Furthermore, Derrick, though he understands if fans of the loveteam hate him for dating the girl, would still like to avoid not being at the receiving end of their wrath.
“Ang hirap na sumagot ngayon kasi baka ma-bash ako eh pero ako para sakin, yung mga fans na sumusuporta sa kanila, naiintindihan ko yung craze kasi ganyan din naman ako eh.”
However, Derrick urges the supporters not to really expect that their adored love team would end up being together for real.
“Para sa akin, ‘wag na lang muna sila masyadong mag-expect na porke’t loveteam sila yung magkaka-tuluyan. And para hindi din sila ma-hurt.
“And wag din sana silang aggressive to the point na may nasasaktan na silang ibang tao na alam mo yun, may bina-bash sila,” he stated.
But is he seriously committing to this newfound love?
Apparently, he is. According to Derrick, since he is putting a lot of time and effort into making this girl feel special, it is safe to say that he is really into her.
“Oo kasi pag nag-commit ka kahit ano pa, nagbigay ka ng oras sa tao na araw-araw mo kausap, seryoso ka do’n ibig sabihin. Saka wala kang ibang kinakausap na ibang girls. Ibig sabihin seryoso ka na talaga, so, yes,” he admitted.
Other than his latest single, Virgo, Derrick is busy with his latest acting project, Legal Wives.
