On Sunday, September 12, Ate Gay apologized to Vice Ganda through Ogie Diaz’s vlog for dragging the latter’s name in an issue.

The gay comedian also explained why he released the breakdown of financial help he received from his showbiz friends.

Maraming salamat,” said Ate Gay.

Ate Gay disclosed that he received 20k from Vice Ganda in addition to the financial aid of other showbiz personalities during his hospitalization due to toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN).

In a now-deleted tweet, Ate Gay clarified that his sibling who [mostly] contributed to his hospital bills which amounted to 600k.

The comedian reasoned that the bashers who compelled him to disclosed the breakdown of the money he received. He did it to defend himself. A basher that Vice Ganda should have skipped his assistance to Ate Gay.

The It’s Showtime host admitted on Thursday, September 16, that he was hurt when he received harsh comments after he helped his friend, which later on revealed as Ate Gay.

Vice was hurt when some netizens questioned the amount he gave for his friend.

“May natulungan ako.

“Napalunok ako, parang ‘pag ako ba yung tumulong dapat may presyo? May ceiling, di ba?

In 2019, Vice Ganda told the It’s Showtime audience that Ate Gay was removed from the Tawag ng Tanghalan singing competition due to his comments on social media. The announcement then caused a rift between the two which lasted for a long time.

They recently reconciled with each other.
