Kapuso loveteam Rita Daniela and Ken Chan admitted on Tuesday, September 28, that they have been getting into fights lately.
The loveteam, also known as RitKen were among The Clash Season 4 hosts, or Clashmasters, along with Kapuso stars Rayver Cruz and Julie Anne San Jose.
In the virtual media conference of the reality talent competition, the two were asked if they had moments where they didn’t get along. Ken revealed that they were now constantly arguing over little things.
“Oo meron! ‘Di naman mawawala yun eh. Lagi naman eh hahaha!” he admitted.
Rita disagreed that it was only this year that they had so many things to fight about.
“Pero parang hindi. I think this year talaga kasi ever since hindi kami nag-aaway ni Ken,” she contradicted.
She then proceeded to share what kind of relationship they had as friends and on-screen partners.
“Sabi ko nga parang there’s something weird with our relationship kasi bakit hindi tayo nag-aaway, hindi tayo nagkakatampuhan?
“But I think this is the year, ito talaga yung taon na andaming naming away, tampuhan, lahat-lahat.”
Although they were fighting, Ken explained that it’s normal between two individuals who share a deeper bond—as a family.
“Kahit naman na marami kaming tampuhan n’yan ni Ritan naniniwala ako na kaya maraming tampuhan parang sa family ‘di ba?
“Kasi mas minamahal mo yung tao eh. Gano’n s’ya kaimportante sa’kin eh.
“Mas deeper na yung relationship namin ni Rita, so mas nakikilala namin yung isa’t-isa.
“So andoon yung mga factors bakit kami nagkakatampuhan—because mahal namin ang isa’t-isa,” he explained.
Despite the bickering and fighting, the two could not hide that they missed each other’s company even if they just finished their series Ang Dalawang Ikaw which ended earlier on September 10.
When asked if they miss hosting The Clash with a live audience, Rita hinted that she also misses being with Ken.
“Ako maliban sa audience nami-miss ko si Ken.”
This flustered Ken, who asked: “Bakit choi?”
Rita then asked what he thinks the reason, to which Ken figured that they could not play pranks with each other, unlike the pre-pandemic seasons of The Clash.
“Kasi hindi na tayo makapag-harutan ng magkadikit eh. Hindi na n’ya ako nasusuntok kasi bawal, hindi n’ya ako mahawakan, bawal. Kaya n’ya ako nami-miss siguro ano? Kaya ngayon ang saya ko.”
Rita then admitted that she always misses Ken, who she had been with since My Special Tatay.
“Lagi! Kasi s’yempre kapag nasanay ka na kasama mo yung tao araw-araw tapos kahit three days lang, parang talagang hinahanap mo ang presensya n’ya. Wow!”
