Kapuso actress Aicelle Santos shared that people have the freedom to express their opinion after being bashed about her “corrupt officials” tweet.
On November 22, Santos posted on Twitter about paying her taxes. She noted that government officials should use the people’s taxes correctly and not just for their own good.
Santos even advised the people to vote for government officials that are not corrupt in the upcoming 2022 elections.

“Kakabayad lang ulit ng tax. Haaay sana nararamdaman natin ang buwis na binabayad! Eh binubulsa lang naman nila! Kaya next year PLS LANG, WAG boboto ng magnanakaw o may history sa pamilya ng magnanakaw dahil lilimasin lang nila ang natitirang lakas at pinaghihirapan ng Pilipino!”
Her post then trended online as netizens noted that the actress should not assume that the government stole the people’s taxes. People also bashed her as they claimed that the actress was endorsing someone running for the election.
Santos later clarified that she was not endorsing anyone for the elections and simply sharing her opinion online.

Nakakatawa! Ang daming nagreact! Guys, i’m not endorsing anyone. I don’t have my final candidates yet, FYI! But this has been a general personal sentinent for several years now. Nagra-rant tayo dahil may karapatan tayong magsalita. Now if you do not like my post, you’re very welcome to unfollow!” said Santos.
In a follow-up post on November 26, Santos reiterated that people have freedom of expression.
“Malaya tayong ihayag ang ninanais. Sa kabila ng pagkakaiba, iisa lang ang gusto natin, ang mapabuti ang ating bansa. Magandang nabubuksan ang ganitong mga usapin, a reminder for us to vote wisely! Isang mapagpalaya at mapagpalang araw sa lahat!” said the singer-actress.
Aicelle Santos recently renewed her contract with the GMA network. She has been with the network for 15 long years now.
